2014 Pure Michigan Invitational

Who: Invite only will go out to the top athletes in Michigan based on their performance in the CF Open. We will invite the top 60 men and the top 60 women. There will be a leaderboard on this event page throughout the open keeping track of who might be getting an invite.
If you are in the top 60 based on the open, you have a guaranteed entry spot should you want to compete. Anyone in the top sixty may register at this time up to the close date. If someone not in the top 60 registers for this ticket type, that ticket will be refunded.
We are also going to have 30 Wild Card spots that will be first come first serve. Programming for this event will be released in the next 14 days, but if you choose to sign up for this knowing that the programming is difficult. Those that competed last year can attest to this, expect to see a similar level of skill and difficulty involved this year.
What: This will be an Stud Only competition. There won’t be any scaling. You may have weaknesses, but there aren’t any gaping holes in your game. There will be four WODs that everyone will compete in. There will be a final for the top 8 men and top 8 women.
When: 8/23/14, Invitations will start being sent out within 2 weeks after the Open is over.
Where: Crossfit Maven, Rochester Hills, MI
Why: To Crown Michigans Best Male and Female Athletes.
Prizes: $300 plus free entry to the 2015 invitational to the winners. $150 plus free entry to the 2015 invitational for 2nd place. $75 to 3rd place. There will also be Trophies for our podium finishers as well as prize packages that will be put together by sponsors donations. These items are TBD.
Refund Policy: Refunds will be granted on an individual basis. You must e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org to request a refund. 21 days, or shorter, prior to the event the maximum refund will be 50% of registration cost. 10 days, or shorter, prior to event no refunds will be granted. All tickets may be transferred, you must e-mail email@example.com with all new athletes information if you do transfer your ticket.
(Stud) - For this level of programming you shouldn’t have glaring holes in your game. This is not saying you have to be able to string 20 unbroken muscle ups together, but you should be comfortable on the rings. Hitting a 225/165 power clean, or a 155/120 snatch shouldn’t be your 1 rep max. Your Fran time is probably going to be very close to 3min, or better. Your Grace is under 2min, and doing a heavy Grace at 185# wouldn’t intimidate you. You are someone that trains to make it to Regionals (making it is not a requirement, but that is the level at which you train throughout the year). At this level of programming expect to see movements done with certain restrictions. i.e. doing a max set of pull ups, instead of just getting a certain number done. Requiring double unders to be unbroken sets, as opposed to just getting through them. Not allowing you to let go of the bar while doing a barbell complex. *these are just examples.
