The Independence Games

Hey West Siders, come check out the first ever Independence Games, Hosted by Triple River Crossfit.  This is going to be a team event with three divisions; Male-Male Teams, Male-Female Teams, and Female-Female.  This competition won't be like one you have seen in Michigan before, because for this one we have access to a pool.  (being able to swim/tread water is a must for this event)

Each team can expect to see 4 WODs throughout the day.  The top teams will move on to one final workout.  Workouts will all be released well ahead of the date of the event. 

There will be an early registration discount code available to the first 20 teams that use it, "First20" that is good for $20 off registration.  So, sign up early, this event will be capped at 65 teams.

Programming for this event will be at our RX Level, but we will allow scaling.  We will still keep your teams score, but if your team scales a WOD you won't be eligable for the finals. 

 

WOD 1 (at the Pool) -

Each partner does a down and back (50m). Score is combined time. Any stroke is allowed. *Walking across the bottom of the pool is considered a good "rep"

WOD 2 - (starting at the Pool) - 15 min time cap

200m buy in - either partner can do this and the distance can be split up in units of 50m (down and back)

~400m Partner Carry Back to the gym - One partner is carrying the other. work may be split up however the team chooses

Double Unders &135/95# C&J
rep scheme - 10/5, 20/10, 30/15, 40/20....
Each partner does their round. i.e. partner 1 does 10 DU, then partner 2 does 10 DU, partner 1 does 5 C&J, partner 2 does 5 C&J,....

WOD 3 - Combine 15 min at each station

- 40yard dash - each athlete gets 2 attempts for best time
- Cone Drill - each athlete gets 2 attempts for best time
- Moving stones for time - Moving stones as a team from one point to another for time.
- Max dead hang hold from a single arm - only one hand may be gripping a ring. static hold for time.
- Max Height Standing Jump - chalk on your hand, jumping to touch the wall as high as possible. 2 attempts per athlete
- 400m Row for time - 1 shot per athlete
- keg throw - 2 attempts per athlete, combined distance is score
- Tire flip for time - down and back tire flip for time

WOD 4 - 6 min

Partner 1 has three minutes of.
1 min of shoulder to overhead
1 min of back squats
1 min of deadlifts
all at 135#/95#
Partner 2 has three minutes of
1 min of shoulder to overhead
1 min of back squats
1 min of deadlifts
all at 135#/95#
Score is total number of combined reps

WOD 5 - Partner Helen - 14 min time cap

21 Russian KB swings each, one partner working at a time getting their whole set done before switching
12 Pull Ups Each, one partner working at a time getting their whole set done before switching



Refund Policy: Refunds will be granted on an individual basis. You must e-mail info@lex-artis.net to request a refund. 21 days, or shorter, prior to the event the maximum refund will be 50% of registration cost. 10 days, or shorter, prior to event no refunds will be granted. All tickets may be transferred, you must e-mail info@lex-artis.net with all new athletes information if you do transfer your ticket.
