Older, Wiser, Stronger, Faster - Individual
Saturday January 11th, 2020

***Registration OPENS Tuesday September 17th @8am - Link to register will be posted a few weeks prior to opening of registration***

THE INDIVIDUAL OLDER, WISER, STRONGER, FASTER EVENT IS BACK!   While we didn’t quite skirt it in during 2019, we are getting right to it in 2020.

Couple of changes for this year:  ONE, this is going to be a SMALLER event than years past.  Last few years we have had 168 athletes. We are cutting that down to 120 ATHLETE MAX.  TWO, we had 10 divisions in the past (35, 40, 45, 50, 55+ for both men and women).  We are cutting down the divisions to 6. The divisions will be; 35-41, 42-48, and 49+ for both male and female.

Programming: We get more “feedback” from a masters event that just about any other event we do.  “How do you expect us to do pull ups? Don’t you know how old we are!”. “Why did you program so much legs?”.  “Why aren’t there muscle ups”. “These weights are too light”. “Stay away from too much shoulder work for older athletes”.  “We want it to be heavier”. For everything that we have heard (and heard multiple times) we have heard the EXACT OPPOSITE as well!

So, we are taking this stance on programming;  This is a MASTERS EVENT. Not a “rookie” event, not a “scaled” event, not a “modified” event (even though we are more than happy to allow you to scale anything you need).  While we can promise you that you won’t see muscle ups (this has way more to do with the facility having enough rings/bars all at the right height and in the right place for the event), you MAY SEE everything else.  Things like PULL-UPS and T2B are on the table! Older divisions may have less reps of movements like this, but we are NOT going to shy away from them. Same thing with overhead movements; these WILL be seen. Please don’t confuse this event with a “scaled”, “modified”, or “rookie” event.  This is a functional fitness event where the only people allowed to enter are 35 and older, simple as that.

Programming will be released no later than 30 days prior to the event.  SCALING IS ALLOWED! We are more than happy to scale any movement, rep, or weight for you so that you can meet YOUR own personal limits/needs.  All this does is mean you can’t get on the podium. We will still judge you, keep your score, and you will show up on the leaderboard. On the event you scaled, you will just fall below anyone that did the event as written.

2019 LEX ARTIS TRANSFER POLICY

Transferring your registration to another individual or team is 100% depending on the event itself.  For some events this is a very easy swap. Other events can ONLY handle transfers when you are replacing yourself or your team with someone of the same gender, division, weight needs, etc.   ALL TRANSFER REQUESTS must be emailed to INFO@LEX-ARTIS.NET.  NO OTHER FORM OF COMMUNICATION WILL BE RESPONDED TO FOR TRANSFER REQUESTS.   All requests are handled on a case by case basis.  If we are able to accommodate your request there is NO FEE involved with processing a transfer.

2019 LEX ARTIS WAITING LIST POLICY

Once an event sells out, the ticket option will automatically change to WAITLIST SPOT ONLY.  There will be a 100% NON REFUNDABLE fee of $5/athlete (total fee will depend on individual or team size).  Waitlists will be limit to 10% of the total capacity of the event itself. If/when a spot opens up, an invoice will be generated and sent to the email address that signed up for the waitlist.  That person will have 3 days to pay the invoice to secure their (or their team) spot in the event. If the invoice is NOT paid, the invoice will be cancelled and they will be dropped back down to the bottom of the waiting list.

At 30 days prior to the event, the 3 day rule on the invoice will NO LONGER BE IN EFFECT.  IF a waitlist still exists at that time ALL teams on the waiting list will be emailed and the spot will be given on a first come, first serve basis.

E-mails requesting to be added to waiting lists will NOT be honored.

2019 LEX ARTIS WORKOUT RELEASE POLICY

Lex Artis Event Management reserves the right to release workouts for events whenever we see fit.  Our general rule is 30 days prior to an event. If an event has multiple dates it will be 30 days prior to the FIRST weekend

2019 LEX ARTIS PHOTO POLICY

By signing up for an event you are NOT guaranteed to get photos of yourself (or multiple photos of yourself).  We do our best to capture the event, but there are 100-200 of you and only one photographer. If guaranteed photos of yourself are a priority you must bring your own photographer to shoot only you from behind the caution tape.  This doesn’t change the fact that we do TRY OUR BEST to get photos of everyone competing.

Photos will ALWAYS be posted within one week (7 days) of the event taking place.  Photos will be placed into an online album and shared via social media. The link will also be posted to our website.    Photos can be downloaded from this link. You are welcome to download and use these photos however you wish.
